Friends of Madison Heights Youth
Makes a Difference to Lamphere Students
Providing positive
opportunities for the youth of Madison
Heights is the goal of the organization Friends of
Madison Heights Youth. With that in mind the group presented Marsha Pando,
Lamphere's Superintendent and Brad Lyon, Board of Education President with a
donation for $10,000 to the Lamphere Scholarship Fund at the September 15, 2009
Board meeting.

Accepting the donation,
Pando said "I'm overwhelmed with your generosity. This is going to provide so
many of our students with the opportunity to continue their education after
graduating high school."
The Lamphere Scholarship
fund was established to benefit Lamphere students and is funded by donations
from the community and various fundraisers held throughout the school year
which is being held for the first time this school year. Since it's inception,
51 scholarships have been awarded to Lamphere students.
